Daniel Blythin-Hammond
Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
MBACP Registered
I am an MBACP Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a deep commitment to relational, experiential, and embodied approaches to therapy. My work is grounded in the belief that healing and transformation arise through authentic connection; with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. I bring warmth, sensitivity, and curiosity to the therapeutic relationship, offering a space where your inner world can be explored safely and with compassion.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in frontline mental health and social care services, supporting adults facing complex psychological and social challenges. These experiences continue to inform my work today, especially in holding an awareness of systemic issues around inequality, identity, and marginalisation.
Alongside my therapeutic training, I have a longstanding personal spiritual practice. I understand how spirituality can be a vital resource, offering meaning, resilience, and connection, and I welcome clients who wish to explore this aspect of their lives. At the same time, I work with many people for whom this is not relevant, and honour each person’s unique journey and beliefs.
My therapeutic orientation is grounded in Humanistic principles, drawing particularly on Gestalt therapy, Person-Centred theory, and Transactional Analysis. I also integrate somatic, transpersonal, and existential perspectives. That said, you don’t need to be familiar with any of this theory for us to work together. It’s completely natural to feel unsure about what to expect, especially if this is your first time in therapy. You won’t be expected to use psychological jargon or arrive with anything already figured out. What matters most is your willingness to show up as you are. My role is to meet you there, to listen closely, and to support you in exploring whatever feels important, at your pace, in your own words.
I hope to offer therapy as a space to slow down, reconnect, and listen to yourself more deeply; whether you are navigating a crisis, seeking greater self-understanding, or longing for change. I look forward to meeting you.
